Share your recovery story

Stories are powerful! In recovery, it is how we start to piece together our personal relationship with drugs and alcohol. That is why Recovered Life is so pleased to announce a new segment of the Recovered Life Show called "How I Did It." Real stories from people who have recovered and how they did it. Below we outline how you can share your story.

We request that you please follow the following guidelines when recording your podcast.

  • You must have one year of continuous sobriety to share your story.

  • Please be courteous when commenting on 12-step groups, therapy, medication, and religious preferences.  We do not want to bad mouth other people's paths to recovery.

  • Please be courteous in sharing other people's full names when you are sharing your story if you are referencing someone who is not recovering out loud.

Before you record!

Please make sure that you read this quick technical checklist before you start the recording process.

  • You only need a smartphone or basic computer with online access to record your episode.  No technical hassles! We have made this very simple.

  • Please use earphones, or a headset when recording.

  • Record in a quiet place. Loud background noise makes a terrible episode.

  • Please block out 15 to 20 minutes to record your episode.

  • You can record asynchronously, so there is no need to schedule your recording date.  We have already recorded your questions.  You are just recording your answers.
